Flocabulary Vocabulary and Creating a Digital Portfolio

How many vocabulary words will you master this week from Flocabulary's "Mime in a Box" lesson?

Today's Learning Objective  * Determine or clarify the meaning of unknown words.

Video of the Day  Since the theme of this week's vocabulary unit is related to miming, I thought you would enjoy seeing a real life mime in action. Check it out the video below.

Flocabulary Vocabulary Today we are going to continue to study this week's Flocabulary vocabulary words:

 ample / collaborate / concise / distinct / diversity / dominate / ignite / linger / mimic / objective / parody / rural / strive / superior / urban

After watching the video once more, you'll work on a new set of activities in Vocabulary - Vocabulary - Unit 2 (Bottom of the Ninth) - Pick the Winner & Understanding What You Read, which can be found in your Language Arts Google Classroom.

Creating a Digital Portfolio  Today we are going learn more about what a digital portfolio is and how to start making our own. To begin, check out a few samples below
Now it's time to start making your own. We have created a Digital Portfolio template for you here, which you will use to get started. It includes the basic structure, components, and guidelines for building your Digital Portfolio.

However, you will have the opportunity to personalize your Portfolio and make it uniquely your own. To begin, you get to select your website's name and theme. First, click on the blue "Use Template" button. Next, you will be invited to name your website (I recommend Your Name's Digital Portfolio). Finally, select the 'Select the Theme' link located near the bottom of the screen. You may begin to personalize the look of your website here. Make sure to save your changes.

Additionally, the videos below show you how to change the site's layout and how to insert text and images. Check them out to learn how you can continue to make the look and feel of your Digital Portfolio website a true reflection of who you are.

We will continue to personalize our Digital Portfolio websites in class tomorrow and begin to learn how to incorporate our digital assignments.

Homework  (1.) Read your A.R. book at home for at least 30 minutes and, if you choose, make a reading log entry using the Digital Reading Log. (Remember you must have made at least one entry by the end of the day Friday.) (2.) Complete your Vocabulary - Unit 2 (Mime in a Box) - Fix the Mistake, which will be due Friday, April 29. (3.) Continue to personalize your Digital Portfolio.
