Studying Vocabulary and Sythesizing Informaton from Multiple Texts

Flocabulary Vocabulary with Digital Flashcards Today we are going to continue to study this week's 'Big Up Yourself' Flocabulary vocabulary words:

dense / deplete / eclipse / eerie / effect / esteem / excel / futile / hazardous / influence / monotonous / prominent / quest / solar / unique

To help you remember the meanings of these words I've created a set of digital flashcards using a program called Quizlet that you can find here, in your Language Arts Google Classroom, as well as below. Please spend some time making sure you understand your words and make sure to study for Friday's quiz.

Non-Fiction Paired Texts: 'My Dad Is in Prison'  Today we will continue to examine a variety of sources about young people with parents who are incarcerated. You can still find the heartfelt personal essay and an interview here. In addition to a video, we will examine these texts as we work to integrate knowledge and ideas by using a graphic organizer to synthesize information. You can find the document Integrating Knowledge and Ideas ("My Dad Is in Prison") in your Language Arts Google Classroom

Homework  (1.) Read your A.R. book at home for at least 30 minutes and, if you choose, make a reading log entry using the Digital Reading Log. (Remember you must have made at least one entry by the end of the day Friday.) (2.) Continue working on your Digital Portfolio. (3.) Continue working on the document Integrating Knowledge and Ideas ("My Dad Is in Prison"), which will also be due Friday, May 20
